Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a system of hands on manual therapy which is suitable for patients of all ages, from the newborn to the elderly.  Osteopaths seek to relieve pain and restore health and function using techniques which ease patterns of strain and injury, working with the body’s repair mechanisms to realign the structure and improve function.  Techniques are applied gently, within the limits of a patient’s range of movement and function.  While I favour the gentle techniques of cranial osteopathy, other techniques utilised may involve some stretching, movement or gentle joint manipulation.  The treatment techniques will vary according to each patient or presenting condition, as no two patients are the same. At the time of consultation diagnosis and treatment techniques will be discussed – no technique will be performed without your express consent.

Cranial Osteopathy is a very gentle treatment approach which can be applied to the whole body which uses gentle to ease tension or strain patterns.  This approach can be particularly beneficial for newborns after delivery and young children as it is very gentle.
